Tenses: Present Continuous

I hope you guys have got some idea about tenses and simple present tense by reading my previous blogs..........Let's continue discussing about more today.

b) Present Continuous:

      * By the name itself, we can say that this tense can only be used for the activities that are still happening. If an activity is already completed, then it can not be said to be in present continuous tense. For easy understanding, "I am writing this blog right now". This activity is happening now, so we can say in this tense. I can not talk about yesterday's blogs in this tense.

   Formula:
Subject + is/am/are + V1 + ing +  object

Ex: I am writing a blog.
       He is playing cricket.
       They are going to market.

      * Present Continuous tense can also be used to show that something will or will not happen in near future.

Ex: I am not going to the meeting after work.
They are going play cricket tomorrow.
She is not meeting her friends after school.
Is Kohli playing in today's match?

       * Present Continuous tense can also be used while speaking about current trends.

Ex: Shopping online is growing day by day.
         The Stocks are dropping constantly.
Now a days, most of the people are using text messages instead of phone.

       * Present Continuous tense can also be used about planned event in future.

Ex: We are going to beach tomorrow in the morning.
The kids are arriving at six o' clock.

So, this is about present continuous tense. Do read and mention your doubts in comments.
